La Borgward Hansa 1500 fut la première innovation automobile d'après-guerre. Ce qui était nouveau: la forme Ponton et les clignotants qui remplacèrent les petits drapeaux. La boîte de vitesses au volant permettait un gain de place. Le coffre était accessible de l'extérieur.

The “Borgward Hansa 1500” was the first German new car development after the Second World War. The new things were the pontoon- shaped body and flashing lights instead of semaphore arms to indicate direction. The steering wheel gear shift was made to gain more room inside the car. The boot was accessible from outside.
